Roleplay Conduct Guidelines

As posted at swfan.net

1) OOC and RL - There is a difference. Nothing In Character (IC) should be continued Out Of Character (OOC). Most of us are good friends in Real Life (RL) and lets keep it that way. Of course IC, get as hostile as you feel required

2) Sexually explicit stuff isnt welcome

3) God mode - doing an impossible attack. Not appreciated

4) Maiming - cutting of limbs, excessive violence etc. Not appreciated

5) Have a think about what you want to be. The best characters are as close as to you as you are in real life and more realistic. Realism is a plus in a fighting thread, it marks you as a better fighter. How would your character act? what are their weaknesses? How about strengths? Define yourself as best you can. This may take time to do this, but once your established, it makes things more interesting

6) Learn about your powers. Are you a Sith? Think abuout what you should be able to do. Are you a Jedi? Think about calm and peace, learn about the lightsabre. Bounty Hunter? Be greedy. Imperial? Learn about the ships and weapons you have

7) Character level. Dont expect to be loved if you come in thinking your the best and blare it out. There are people here who have seen that literally 100's of times, they wont think much of another blusterer. Alos, If your an apprentice, dont expect you can defeat a Master. Accuracy tells us you cant. The best players learn as they play. The best I have seen is Darth Ogre, who couldnt lift a pebble via the Force in his first fight. He developed and developed, growing his character over time. That adds fun and realism too. Many people here have devloped characters to the point that they are incredibly good, just by the same process.

8) Playing another character - to play this is okay. To do so with the intention to infiltrate is strictly out. Thence, if your primary character is a Sith say, play another as a Bounty Hunter. We can find otu who you really are, but franly I dont care. Remember the priciple - What is in character stays there. It is harder to play multiple characters, but it is worth it if you do it right.

9) Weapons - The sabre here is king. Other weapons seen in the movies are welcome. Nukes, Biological attacks are not. Chemical attacks also dont work on Sith or Jedi of a cetain level and above. Sabres can only be stopped by Cortoris material and then only shut down.

10) Hand to hand combat. Study Martial arts.

11) Force powers rule here. Sure, other powers are used here, but Force powers are override all else. This is a Star Wars RPG :). Again, if your an apprentice, dont expect to be more Force powerful than a Master. Build it up, train yourself and learn

12) Races - Mainly human. But any race is welcome

13) Groups - Jedi, Sith, Bounty Hunters, Gungans, Imperials, Rebels, Republic, take your pick.

14) Forum Warlords :- Those individuals who are the best and have been here the longest. To defeat one of these is an incredible achivement as they have done the above and may seem undefeatable. Thats because people like Lounge Lizard, Rama Sha, Lady Mara Jade, Grand admiral Thrawn have long character backgrounds, well defined abilites and know how to use them. Dont expect to come in and be able to defeat them. More likely, you will get laughed at and usually with good reason. Take some advice, build yourself up in character before taking one of these on, especially if you want to be taken seriously

15) Fighting - its basically free for all, not many rules apart from No god mode, no maiming and waiting for your opponent to reply.
