shin megami tensei: devil children
maohfuin
media factory / 2001

Here are some Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children cards. (Notice: This series is known as DemiKids in North America.) This set is a CCG (collectable card game) like Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic: The Gathering, for example. I'm not really certain about the premise or the rules, however. I haven't really looked into it - I more or less just collect the cards. These cards can only be aquired in Japan or through importing so they are very rare outside Japan. I mean... extremely rare. Most import stores don't even carry these at all.

This set of cards is called Maohfuin, which means devil seal (or something like that.) I believe this is the second series of cards released for the Devil Children game, but I'm not certain. As it is an earlier release, it deals with the earlier games of the series. The boxes and packs for this set have the images of the main characters from the Red and Black Books, much like the Maden Fukkatsu set does. A box of these cards retailed for 4500 yen and each pack retailed 150 yen. The box contains 30 packs of cards which each contain 6 cards.

The entire set of Maohfuin cards is comprised of 61 cards. Each card in the series is prefixed with the letters SD. At the bottom of these cards, like all Devil Children cards I've seen so far, are small pentagrams. These note the rarity of the card with 5 pentagrams marking a Platinum Rare and 1 pentagram marking a Common.

Platinum Rare: 3 cards
Gold Rare: 6 cards
Silver Rare: 12 cards
Uncommon: 20 cards
Common: 20 cards

At this point I will need to spend more time researching the cards before I can write more information on this set. The cards are all in japanese so I don't know the names of some either because I haven't been able to translate them yet or I don't have them.
