This is the Ultimania guidebook for Final Fantasy VIII. It is published by Square's in house publisher, DigiCube and is one of several books in the Ultimania series (I've seen a Chrono Cross book and Final Fantasy X book and this book as an ad for a SaGa Frontier II book) This book is probably the thickest guidebook you can find for FF8 is is 1 and 1/16 inches thick (2.7 cm) including the cover and runs over 473 pages long. The book is 6 inches (15 cm) wide and 8 1/4 inches (21 cm) tall. The book is in japanese.

The book is a softcover book and comes with a red dust jacket (as seen in the photo above.) Underneath the dust jacket is a plain white cover with only some words on it, including the title of the book and the credits. At the base of the book is a wraparound band (not sure what they call this in japanese) with the title of the book and some credits, etc.

The book is divided into ten chapters which as A LOT of inforation on the game. The chapters each descibe an aspect of the game, including the games locations and characters, the junctioning & magic system, item usage, monsters, chocobo forests, secrects and the in-game scenarios. In addition to that, the book is filled with maps, Eyes On Me song lyrics and score and interviews from the creators of the game.
