I was hanging out at some console gaming message boards one day and there came a discussion (more like an arguement) about who was the better Final Fantasy artist. Was it Tetsuya Nomura, who did the characters for FF7 through FF10 or Yoshitaka Amano, who was the series original artist and the person who did the character art up to FF6. Some people made some, in my opinion, very uninformed and ignorant comments comparing Nomura's work to your run of the mill anime. All arguments aside, like whoever you want, but comparing Nomura's style to japanese anime is just stupid. Regardless of whether or not you like his style, you can't deny that his style is such that if you are familiar with his art, you can immediately identify any other work he's done. So anyway, I made this little image to prove my point. And people complain that Final Fantasy characters have gotten too realistic! :P
