Replaceing first one piece, then another, I eventually rebuilt the entire chair. (When 11 pieces were swapped with new wood, the chair cried out for integrety, so I continued to trade all the members for newly fabricated ones.)
Cherry-stained Maple looked rich and was stronger than the original wood. The brass ornamental plate gave the eye a focal point.
New canvas (sewn by 'moi') was drum-tight. The wood was waxed and buffed by hand. It not only looks good, but smells good too.
